This turquoise is very special and unique. It comes from the famous Red Skin mine in northern China. This mine was originally developed by the Japanese during WWII as a tin mine.
In 2002 turquoise was discovered at
about six hundred meters. This rough material is known for the red skin that
covers it rich in iron. It is a natural blue color much like the Sleeping
Beauty turquoise from America. Unfortunately in 2010 a tailings pond dam broke
and the mine was flooded so no new material is currently available.
