Caring for Your Extra Special Stones

Micro Opal Inlay

Micro opal inlay is a mosaic of tiny pieces of precious opal. Each one has been hand cut and carefully hand placed into the setting, therefore your micro opal inlay jewelry is very delicate. It can be easily damaged by heat, moisture, household cleaners and cosmetics. Exposure can cause the inlay to chip and discolor.

Durability

Not recommended for every day wear
Protect your piece from damage by storing it in a zip bag or soft pouch

Cleaning

Wipe with a soft dry cloth

Turquoise Inlay Ring - from 2015

Turquoise

Stability
Turquoise is generally stable to light, but high heat can cause discoloration and surface damage. It can be discolored by chemicals, cosmetics, and even skin oils or perspiration. Even stabilized turquoise can be affected by a constant bombardment of chemicals.

Cleaning
Clean your turquoise with warm, sudsy water and dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid using commercial jewelry cleansers and ultrasonic machines.

Amber Dangle Earrings - from August 2018

Amber

Amber can melt or burn in high temperatures. Don’t store amber on top of electronics or in strong light. However, it is normal for amber to darken over time, but heat and light can accelerate the process.

Cleaning

Clean your amber with warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.

Durability

Amber is soft compared to gem minerals, so care must be taken not to scratch and damage it during wear.
